Default Will new shocks lift my cart?

Hey all,

I have a 92 cc gas and I have some 205/30/12's installed that rub on the drivers side when turning ever so slightly. I was told these rims and tires would fit on my cart so I went with them. As the title states, would new shocks help with some of the "sag" on the driver's side? There is definately more stability on the passenger side and is noticeably higher (about an inch) than the drivers.

Thanks

Blown shocks can cause some sag. Installing new ones would remove that sag.

That's what I was thinking. I'm thinking about replacing the shocks and possibly adding a 1" leveling block as well.

You would be better off with new springs. The springs support the body on the chassis, not the shocks. The shocks merely control bouncing from the springs. You can remove the shocks and the ride height will not change.

Your absolutely right gomoman. Shocks merely dampen and control spring bounce.

Try an add a leaf kit if you don't want to purchase new springs. I just installed some and it lifted my cart slightly, maybe an inch, and it did cut down on the rear spring sag when I have people on the rear seat. The set costs under 30$.

My ezgo was like that, I installed new front springs and shocks and it made a big difference. I put a leaf in first, and before the yr was out it was back down where it was.

Well, new springs and shocks did help a little with the sagging. Looked into it a little further and it would appear that my 12" wheels had the improper offset. I sent the wheels back and now I'm getting a 3 + 4 offset...(i think that is how it is worded). I also ordered a 1" block that will fit between my front spring and frame. This should solve my problem....I hope....

Ahh glad you figured it out. What off set did they send you. I just put some wheels and tires on my 01 CC DS. 3-4 off set and have no rubbing issues. Standard height with 205/30-12 tires. Show us some pics when you get it set up.
