Re: Knocking sound coming from motor
We are just having a little fun.
You should start by draining your diff oil, and see if there's metal fragments in there. (Likely there isn't anything wrong in there, but it never hurts to check). Then, drop the motor, and since you seem very confused as to how to further troubleshoot this, take it to a golf cart dealer, and ask the mechanic to take a look. He will likely tell you for free what's wrong, and the repair bill will be minimal, since you did the hard part yourself (remove the motor/reinstall the motor). Another option? Use this opportunity to send your motor off to Plum Quik or one of the companies that rebuilds motors, and makes them faster. Very reasonable, and a nice upgrade. |

Re: Knocking sound coming from motor
Its probaby the motor centering issue. The guide ring/ motor centering kit is very easy to install. Disconnect main + and - from the battery pack. Disconnect the cables on motor. Be sure to mark which cable goes where. Remove the 3 bolts holding motor in place. Determine if your motor has the guide ring or not. If your not sure take a pic and post here. If it does, you should be able to tell if its loose/broke or whatever. Order new if needed. If it does not have the guide ring, you will need motor centering kit part # AM10039. It consist of a regular washer, a toothed washer and a spring. It also comes with a bearing and a rubber bumper. Dont install the rubber bumper. Install the bearing if you want. Hope this helps
