Exhaust Studs Backing Out
I have an '89 EZGO Marathon with the 3pg motor. When I got the cart it was missing an exhaust stud and the other side had the stud but missing the nut. I replaced both studs and used a lock washer with the nut. This weekend the cart got loud again and again one of the studs fell out and the side is missing a nut. I found the missing stud in the frame of the cart and actually still had the lock washer and nut attached to it.
Is there a better way to keep the exhaust bolted together? I'm sure I could use Loctite Blue but wanted to check and make sure that would be fine. I don't want to have to pull motor out and drill out studs that are seized in the block. Any advice is appreciated. Bryan |
