36v goes slooow!
hi everibody
I'm working on a DS 36 from 2001, no controller and 1 solenoid. on the flat grond the car is ok but at the first hill it goes a little slow.. but it's normal.. when is witch to R position and i try to run back (climbing a hill) the car goes veeeery slow, like with low battery. My question is: why only in R??? when i Drive foreward there is no problem, . and what is more weird is when i put the car on jack, it seems to work properly. I check speed switch but it seems ok, I replace motor but still problem remains, Battery pack is ok... what is left?? Should I check all the resistor coils one-by-one? |

Re: 36v goes slooow!
the cart is a 1/2 speed reverse so your only running on 18 volts thats why so slow...............its a safety thing................................

You can defeat this at the F&R if you wish.

Re: 36v goes slooow!
shadowman,
I've seen the green cable that goes from the f&r assembly to the -18v and , of course, is a safety mode. What I wander is: can I switch this cable to some other position to make the cart going a little faster in reverse mode? my client asked me why this cart goes so slowly in reverse and he need a little more speed because he has a lot of hills on his hotel. I suggest him a new cart! :-) |

Re: 36v goes slooow!
yep...go further towards your main positive by a battery or two...being hooked to the negative 18 volts? wouldnt that only give you 12 volts? anyway yes hook it to the positive on the next battery over closer to the passenger side...this will speed up your reverse. just remember it will have more power so be expecting it when you hit pedal and dont give yourself whiplash!

Re: 36v goes slooow!
Take the green cable and loop it to the F&R terminal next to it, so it makes a loop across the 2 bottom F&R terminals. It's not the best route, but it will bring you 36v to F&R.
