Question Accessory Power

Is it ok to run standard acc. such as horn, head lights, brake lights of two 6volt batteries to get 12 volts or is it really worth getting a voltage reducer or accessory battery..?

Thanks,

There's no way I'd tap two batteries. I paid too much for them. Car batteries are sold for little more than scrap value at wrecking yards. Ruin one of those, who cares?

accessory battery way before tapping into two of your golf cart batteries...you'll start a long and drawn out process of replacing just those two...then the other four..then the two you have replaced with those four again...voltage reducer is the best way there is...no sep charging..no ruining batteries...its just the best route...

i bought a lawn battery for 23 dollers and use it for my acc. i do not run down my 6 volt batteries and charge the lawn battery once a week to keep it charged up. it works for me. i can buy a lawn battery in my area for less. when a lawn battery is used up i take back the old one and get a new one for less than the original cost. just a thought to help you out. works for me.

Just to add another opinion here, my 48 volt to 12 volt converter is powered by 10 AWG. My motor is powered by 2 AWG. I'm not too worried about my 50 watt stereo killing my eight T-105s to the point that I can't get home, but YMMV.

If you do go the 12volt route, get a deep cycle.
