Default Chance to buy 1979 ezgo electric

I have found an electric ezgo for sale for dirt cheap but it has been sitting and has no battery's... What things should I check on the cart before I pull the trigger... I am wanting to turn it into a lifted big tire hunting rig... Are there very many ways to get more torque on these old carts?

Thanks
Brody

these older carts use resistors which arent good for lifting...A controller mod would be in order for that cart to be comfy to lift...also if no charger with cart they run like 400 bux new and so do the batteries...Lift would also be hard to find for that old of a cart unless you wanna fab something...hope this helps

I can fab the lift
Myself but they said it comes with the motor controller and charger... It takes 6 battery's the way it is but is it possible to upgrade the controller for higher voltage and more batteries.

79 ezgo didn't come with a controller, some one had to upgrade it for it to have a controller, but if it does have a controller ? Yes it can be up graded

Well I just asked the lady of it came with the motor, controller, and charger and she said yes... Where would it be located if it is there so I can have her take a pic of it for me... It is about a 2 hr drive from me but she only wants 150 for it.

Ok well I'm reading a bunch of threads in here and I found this one http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...g-machine.html

And he is wanting to do the same stuff as me... I would be happy with 22" tires and a homemade 4-5" lift. My question is that if this cart has a good motor and a good charger how much money would I have in changing the cart over to 48 volt... As far as I know I will need a 400- 500 amp controller? How much would that be and any other parts I would need to upgrade.
