HELP !!! What did I fry ?
2004 club car DS IQ (stock besides the back seat). I was cleaning cable connections when I ran the wire brush across both connections on the top of the motor. Red wire-F1 and black wire-A1. Got a small spark and now I do not have reverse. Still have forward and the reverse alarm. I did the check where I pushed the cart a few feet and did not get the "your cart is rolling away from you" alarm. Everything worked before I did this. So what did I fry ? Motor ? Controller ? Solenoid ? Is it ok to drive or put on charge ? Any help will be greatly appreciated !!!

Re: HELP !!! What did I fry ?
Forgot to mention when I give it throttle in reverse I hear a clicking noise. I was hoping for something a little cheaper but I was thinking the controller also. Thanks for the response.

Re: HELP !!! What did I fry ?
Just for future reference and to save money, always put the cart in TOW mode before doing any work on the cart...

Re: HELP !!! What did I fry ?
The controller bit the dust. I've done it before on DS cars while tearing them down. I dropped a lock-nut between A1 and F1 and that's all it takes. It won't hurt anything for you to put it on charge in this situation. That's all OBC related, not controller.

Thanks TahoeDawgZ71, I guess I'll start my upgrades sooner than I thought.
Thank you ALL for your quick responses !!! I'm going to find something to cover them up. (A1,F1,A2,F2) Just in case. |
