Club car hesitates before starting?
Hi!
We have a few mid 90's Club Car DS's. On some of these carts, when you press the gas pedal it will make a sound like a belt is slipping for 3-5 seconds before it actually starts to turn the engine over. It's starting to get real annoying, as it happens every time we try to use these carts. I can get a video if you guys need me too. Please help us fix this on our carts!! |

Ignore the part about a tension tool, just pry up on the starter with a crow bar till the belt is tight and then tighten the two large bolts is how I normally do it, but you can also use the adjustment screw while applying pressure with bar for same effect...

Run your finger on the bottom of the starter belt. If it feels rough and you can flake off some of the rubber replace the belt. It it feels smooth you can just tighten them up.
