Silver box between headlights and gas pedal
I have a silver box on my 2006 Club Car Precedent between the headlight area and the foot board. The box is says SPS Electronics (CLUB CAR PN 102352202 rev.A). For some reason the person before me cut the red and black wires, but the there are three wires still connected.
Cany anyone advise what this box is and if I need it, cause apparently someone didn't think I did if they cut these two wires?? |

Re: Silver box between headlights and gas pedal
Sounds like a voltage reducer to me, to run those headlights... Do they still work?

Re: Silver box between headlights and gas pedal
It is a DC-DC Club Car converter. http://www.golfcartpartsdirect.com/e...102352202.html
Do you have lights that work? If they do and you don't have any other accessories, then the two cut wires are probably 12V in and out for other accessories. Check with your voltage meter. My OEM converter only runs when key is turned on. If you remove it, chances are your lights won't work. Follow the three wires. Chances are they lead to the main wiring harness. Check the following link and see if your box looks like the pic of the 48v-12v converter there. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/attac...ucer-image.jpg http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...tml#post847309 |

Re: Silver box between headlights and gas pedal
Jantrree, that is exactly what I have, but don't see the blue wire or black wire. I don't have the batteries until tomorrow, so I can't check it until then. I will hook the batteries up and see whether or not the lights work without the DC DC converter. If the lights do not work, then I guess I will connect the red and black wires together to see if it changes. I just don't know why they would cut the connector out of the red and black wire???
Thanks for everything!! |

Re: Silver box between headlights and gas pedal
Do the three wires run back into the dash area and connect to the wiring harness? If so, I am guessing that is your 48V input and output and the other wire is the key switch. Can you run wires from your headlight back to the dash or the converter?

Re: Silver box between headlights and gas pedal
Can you post pictures of your converter and the wires? Is the converter still on the plate or did you remove it?

Re: Silver box between headlights and gas pedal
Is the converter plugged into the 12pin connectors in the wiring harness? The 3 wires should plug into one end of the converter. Do you have a picture of the converter?
