Default MCRO and AllTrax combination 96'

Team,

I wrote yesterday a couple of vendors and one of them wrote me back concerning the combination of MCOR Conversion Kit and AllTrax controller.

Need feedback.

C/P from email:
HI XXXXXXX,

Thanks for writing to The Golf Car Catalog. I can provide the Pot box to MCOR kit you mention. It is readily available in the aftermarket. I can sell it for $299. However, as an electric golf car/electric vehicle technician with more than 17 years of experience in the industry, I would strongly discourage you from performing this conversion. You will have issues. I have seen them many times over the years involving an Alltrax controller and the MCOR. I’ll elaborate.

The new MCOR (Motor Controller Output Regulator) is Club Car’s new version of their pot box with a 5K-0 ohm output. It is far less reliable than either their original pot box, or the V-Glide pot box (with electronic resistors). About ¼ of all MCOR’s we get form Club Car are bad straight out of the box. It is not nearly as good as the old ones.

Furthermore, the Alltrax is far more sensitive than the stock controller. I have seen numerous customers over the years have a working cart with an MCOR. As soon as they install the Alltrax, the cart has trouble. It is because the MCOR doesn’t put out a clear signal and that confuses the Alltrax which I mentioned is far more sensitive. There is also no adjustment at all for the MCOR, so if you install it and the Alltrax has sensitivity issues based on the inconsistent communication with the MCOR, you’re stuck in a bad situation.

I can have the kit drop shipped for you if needed, but again I would not recommend it. We don’t even show it on our web site due to countless issues we’ve heard over the years in terms with the Alltrax/MCOR combination.

Best Regards,
XXXXXXX
