Default Plum Quick Drifter 2 torque motor questions

I am in the process of getting a hunting cart built. 48 Volt club car precedent. 6 inch lift. 23 inch tires. Where I hunt it is pretty hilly so I definately need a torque motor. I spoke with rick at pq and he said I need to go with the Drifter 2. I cant seem to find anything on here about the drifter. Is anyone using one? Is this my best torque option? He also said that I can Run this motor with the stock contoller. Should I upgrade or is it not worth the cost. Thanks in advance for the help.

Welcome to the forum SAE, I haven't heard of the Drifter motor either but PQ does build some good motors, do you plan on upgrading your controller for added torque? Before you make a commitment to a motor I would checkout EMP motors as well they are in Ft. Wayne Indiana and will build you pretty much anything you want just speak with Chuck as I had them build a motor this winter for me and I couldn't be happier..

Thanks for the info, Rick at pq is finding out if I can run the stock controller (grey) with that motor since it is a iq cart or if I need to upgrade. Based on the terrain (hilly) that I am attempting to use this hunting cart for, I am probably going to upgrade the controller to get the most torque. I want to do this right the first time. The outfit building my cart does the D&D motors. I dont know weather to go with the pq, d&d or emp. With that said, I need to move quick as my cart will be ready in a week or two. minus the motor of course.

I have heard great things about PQ and D&D, but know nothing about EMP.

SAE I have the same cart with 500 Alltrax. 2ga cables. Lots of torque with stock motor.
But have a D&D high torque motor.came in yesterday for it. Always looking for a little more.

Texan, I am interested to hear the torque difference with the d&d vs the upgraded stock set up that you have. Keep me posted. My main issue is torque but what kind of speeds are you getting now? Thanks
