Default Novice question about swapping bulbs from 12v to 48v - Pic

Present lights are 12v, wired to one battery.
At the recommendation of another member, I want to swap to a 48v and use the whole pack.

Pictured is the 12v in the housing and the 48v.
The new bulb is a CEC Industries H3 55w.
The base of the old is a Sylvania HB1/9004 12v.
Can I swap bulbs without a new base.
If so, how do I remove the old and deal the the blue wire from the new.

Don't beat me up too bad, I push paper for a living.

Thanks,

Mike

ok no beating but .. won't work ... Sylvania HB1/9004 not made to switch out blubs ..

if some how you do get it to work heed this warning ... do not touch glass of H3 blub .. oil on fingers will cause blub to over heat and break

blue wire is power .. base is ground on H3 blub

Are you switching to a 48V light? When you run off the entire battery pack, you use a 48V-12V converter or reducer but the lights are still 12v lights. Some people switch from the stock 37 watt bulb to a 50 Watt bulb, but they are still 12 lights. Sorry if I misunderstood you.

ok you have 3 choices
1 run as you are with one 12v battery (rotate battery monthly)
2 run a 48v to 12v reducer ... takes equal power from all batteries
3 install an auxiliary 12v battery

The bulb he has with the blue wire is a 48v bulb!! He is wanting to know if there is a way to install it in the housing the other 12v bulb goes into. That way he can draw off the entire pack!!
