2001 club car blowing my mind!!!
Okay guys I need some HELP please.
First the cart is a 2001 club car, 48 volt, regen 2, tow/ run toggle switch under seat and a power drive charger. Batteries have a charge reading of 50 volts on the volt meter. The problem I'm having is the cart will not go forward nor go in reverse. But if the gas pedal is pressed the box under the passenger side clicks but the solenoid will not click at all. So I got this smart idea to bring my friends cart (identical to mine and has no problems) and swap parts to narrow it down. I start with the solenoid, GE controller, speed sensor, key switch and batteries. All parts where left on tell I finished. (friends battery reading was 49 volts). NOTHING, cart will not move or respond with the parts from his cart (he drove it to my house). Mind you the rear wheels have been jacked up off the ground. I disabled the brake cables in the rear just in case they where locking the wheels. Then I checked the fuse, traced all the wires from front and back of cart to see if something was unplugged or damage. NOTHING. I can plug up the charger and it charges the batteries with no problem. Does any one have any ideas what I should check next or do. Any help will be appreciated. |

my opinion is a problem with the throttle, as the cart does not know that you are pressing on the go pedal, check ohm readings there.

I metered it out. See pics below. These are pics from the throttle box I opened from the passenger side.
They all read good. I even put a screw driver in slot and turned it. Nothing. All wiring was hooked up and it didn't move. So I may just see if my friend will let me remove his off of his cart. Maybe a couple of days from now because he works shift work. If I need to meter it different or do something different let me know please. Thanks for the help!!! |

Re: 2001 club car blowing my mind!!!
The very fact that you were able to open the MCOR raises concern as they are sealed units that are not supposed to be opened.
If your friends cart has one, simply swap to test. If not, take out the rectangular plug, and put a paper clip in the end of it to by pass the switch and see if it runs, if it does great, if not, it could still be the pot portion of it, I've seen both sides fail. |

Okay, thanks everyone for the response I really appreciate it.
I tried the paper clip and the cart didn't move at all. I haven't tried my friends box because he has been at work. So if the paper clip doesn't work does that means the MCOR box is out? |
