Default TXT seat covers

Has anybody here ever bought seat covers and put them on themselves? I've got a set in mind but the only thing is, is that the covers don't have the foam padding sewn underneath the vinyl like mine does, and their also pleated. You think some kind of spray adhesive would hold the padding to the underside of the vinyl? Thanks for any help ya'll.

What my buddy did on his boat was to find an older retired woman who had years of experience with reupholstering. She did it just for fun and a few bucks.

I ordered mine from these people,customcart@me.com. they staple on and look great, you do not need the spray adhesive.

Their used to be a lady that done this around my area, but I don't think she messes with it anymore, but I'm not positive.

My friend just bought the raw materials and she made them from scratch. Not sure the younger folks even know how to sew anymore.

Yea yurtle, they probably think a sewing machine is something you pull behind a tractor to plant seeds. I like doing things for myself if I can, I'm still undecided about trying it though.

If you are buying fitted covers, there should be no need for gluing anything.

Chloe, but the thing about the ones I'm looking at doesn't have the thin foam pad sewn to the underside of the vinyl like the ones I have now does. I don't know if it's a comfort thing or what. It may help to make the pleats fill up better where they won't flatten, I don't know.

If I understand you correctly, then yes, the extra foam is to form the pleats. Covers without the foam are going to be a cheaper variety and yes, they will flatten out. I'm guessing you can find a better made sample, with a similar appearance, for just a couple dollars more.

I'm gonna keep looking, I thought there was something wrong when I saw how cheap they were.
