Default 36v TXT state of charge install?

I just installed a 'bar style' state of charge meter in my 36v series TXT. I just wanted to make sure I hooked it up properly.

I connected one of the three wires to the green wire on the key switch as instructed, so it comes on when the key is on.
The instructions just show the other two going to + and - but don't say where in the battery setup to connect them.
I hooked them to the + and - where the battery charger thing is connected.

It seems to be working as it showed all the way full at fully charged, and then drops down after driving.

I just wanted to make sure I connected it to the correct batteries.

I will be swapping it for a digital meter from Scottyb as soon as I get around to ordering one. I had ordered this one some time ago before I read about the digital kind being better. I figured I might as well run it for the time being.

Yes, it sounds like you have it correct.

Connect the + and - to the main connection of your battery back so you get all 36 volts. Usually this is where your charger wires connect to also.

The third contact can go to a switch or connect off of your key switch so the display only lights when you are using the cart.

Some also have a fourth contact which is very rarely used for carting purposes.

If I were you get rid of that meter and get digital readout meter
From carts unlimited - Scotty _ ( site sponsor ) . Those bar type meters are not accurate and you will ruin your batteries

It will be in my next order with him....along with the disc brake conversion.
I didn't know any different when I ordered the bar meter.
