Default Hello from Alberta...

Newbie Alert!!!

Hello All... normally I do small engine repair on lawn/garden tractors but this EZGO was recently brought in to the shop and the owner didnt want to spend $$$ on a new charger... he bought me a bottle of whiskey for my time and said 'Keep the Cart'.... I dont golf but I live on an acreage so Im sure I can put it to good use.

the 36v charger isnt working but I charged each battery individually with an automotive trickle charger and they all went up around 7.2v, and appear to be holding, the cart seems to drive and stop fine, lights work, tires hold air.

Judging from the body style Im guessings its approx an 1980-ish... tag has been painted over and hard to read but maybe someone here can confirm the model and year???

I did some internet cruising and found some good information on EZGO's here: https://www.golfcarcatalog.com/golf-...museum-e-z-go/

Yours looks to be a metal body with flat rear fenders, which puts it in the 1975 to 1993 category. See also: https://www.cartsunlimited.net/which...i-have---.html

The last two digits of the model number are supposed to be the year ... but an "02" designation (i.e. 2002) does not match your body style.

I would "guess" that your cart is a 1984 Marathon ... but perhaps some BGW members who are more familiar with the EZGO's may be able to confirm this.

Thx guys.... appreciate the welcome and the input.

Dont expect I'll get much opportunity to drive the cart thru an Alberta winter but I can do some research and look into possible mods that I might like to have. Maybe a small lift and tires to make it more off road capable around the farmyard. Not sure I need another addiction but I can have fun building most anything with wheels;)

If you want I have a 36v charger (Lester) for that cart in my garage. You pay shipping and I ship to you. I am in Ontario. No cost. Just shipping cost. I can also send you a D-sub charge port. I have piles of them as well that I need to give away for free as well. :)

Throw a set of garden tractor chains on it and you can drive it on the warmer days of winter

The picture below was taken about 3 weeks ago in the Foothills near Calgary after a mid-October snow fall.

If you are not driving your cart often in the winter, make sure to keep the batteries topped up regularly for optimum battery life.

Hey we're practically neighbors... as far as the internet goes... Im about 20 minutes east of Airdrie.

I dont expect to need the cart much in the winter... and I HATE chains... I get 2 or 3 garden tractors in every year with damage to the axles or transmissions that is a direct result of using chains.. on my own garden tractors I run ATV tires and wheel weights. Thats enough traction to push a 54" snowblade so I can clear the driveway before I pull the cart out of the garage.Lol
