Wow. A bottle of whiskey and a free running cart. Can't say I've ever had that happen!

I'd guess that we are about 100 km apart (60 miles in the US ).

Yes ... the chains definitely add an additional load to the cart ... I see it on the amp meter when I have the chains on. With our hills and ice, I don't think that ATV tires would work well enough on the Cushman.

Come to think of it, running studded winter tires on our Lexus RX350 reduces the fuel mileage by about 10% too. But they sure grip!

Thx... I get customers leaving all sorts of stuff behind, mostly small engine lawn and garden equipment, they decide not to spend money on repairs but they still owe me for time spent... sometimes it work out, sometimes it doesnt ;)

You might be surprised how well ATV tires work in the snow, they are, after all, made for light weight off road vehicles, lots of guys put a snowplow on a side-by-side.. and those rigs can go thru pretty much anything.

We have an old Polaris quad that does well in the snow with ATV tires ... but it has a solid rear axle and 4 wheel drive. Even with that, it is limited to about 8" of snow.

The Cushman is a 2 wheel drive with a standard "full slip" rear differential. I get planted with it in the bush in the summer if I'm not careful (high centering it is easy) but the chains make it pretty nimble on road or trail in the winter. I have a feeling that studded tires "might" work in the winter on the Cushman but I know that chains do work.

We tend to drive the Cushman more cautiously with the chains on ... no extreme off roading where equipment is more likely to break. The Cushman is a tool for us ... not something for off road fun.

And I'm about 40 mins west of Airdrie, but that's the original one in the West of Scotland!

I wouldnt expect a set of tires to turn a golfcart into snow machine but they will take it most anywhere a set of chains will... without beating the crap out of your cart, or your back, and for extra traction you can fill the tires with winter windshield washer fluid.

If this ezgo I got works out in the long term I'll likely be putting some atv rubber on it next year.... I'll let ya know how it work out ;)

Not exactly a Golfcart but a video of a neat little 2 wheel drive cart on some old school ATV tires... tire companys have spent alot of time and money on R+D since 1972

So I left it sit for over a week and the dashboard batt indicator still showed Full charge so I took it out for a test drive, 1/2 or so and still shows Full charge. No problem driving up the ramps to get it in my horse trailer. Seems all I need is a decent charger.
