Default Very slow golf cart

Hi, I have a friend that has a yamaha G16, 48 volt. It starts off nice and fast, but then slows down to a crawl. Does anybody know what might be causing this. Thanks

Bad batts, bad connections....batts just old and tired. How old are the batteries? If they are the original batteries then that would be the problem. Even though you charge them up and they have voltage available they won't hold a charge very long.

A bad connection will also cause lots of trouble.

The batteries were just replaced, and the connections look good and clean. Is there anything else that could do this?

One or more of the new batteries could be bad. Load test or hydrometer test each one and recharge, report pack & individual battery voltage 30 minutes after charging ...

G16e's were 36 volt carts. Do you have a G16 or G19? It would help for tech help, but I see Roady and Scottyb gave you god advice. Good luck Dave
