Took the starter to a shop, they bench tested it and it wasn't charging. Had hairline cracks in the brushes. Installed new bearings because it was apart anyway and new brushes, installed it and it works fine. Still gets hot but it's working. Not sure how hot these run but it you put a drop of water on the case, in 3 seconds it's evaporated.

i have a ezgo year 2000 and the starter gen is getting hot
replaced the voltage regulator and solonoid
starter/gen is tested and whas good

when i drive there is no problem the battery is charging

but when i stop driving and let the engine run the battery discharges

who can help me

You should start a new thread since you don't have an RXV. If the S/G is getting hot, how are the brushes inside? What's the running voltage on the battery?

sorry for this

i thougt i do it in this post becous it is neerly the same problem

brushes are ok battery is 12.5 v engine not running
