K&N Filter
I may be opening a can of worms here. I know there is a lot of opinions on K&N filters on the auto forums, BUT Have any of you guys used one on your cart? I have a 13hp Kawasaki and looking to get just a little more out of it. I have even heard of drilling holes in the air box to add more air flow. Just a thought

Re: K&N Filter
Golf carts are pretty sensitive on the A/F ratio, so be aware that with more airflow you might need to re-jet to keep from being a little lean and harming your engine over time.

Re: K&N Filter
Guys what does this do to the noise levels and performance.... i.e. is the extra noise worthwhile?

Re: K&N Filter
Thanks for all of the input guys The "re-jet" because it could run lean is something that I never thought of.

Re: K&N Filter
I use an oiled UNI-filter on mine with good result because I had one new laying around that fit the carb inlet dia. Otherwise I'd have prolly gotten a K&N. Plugs after a full throttle run and kill look good so I haven't had need for a re-jet I think both are a good idea.

Re: K&N Filter
Harley, I have K&N's in everything I own also....did you end up putting one on the cart? If so, did you change the jets? Have you noticed any performance improvement?
Thanks again! |

Re: K&N Filter
I have not changed over to K&N in my cart. I started to head in a different direction to get a little more power out of it. I have adjusted the governor, now running at 3600 RPM. That made a big difference. Winter plans are to add an upgraded spring in the driven clutch to gain a little low end torque (that may open another can of worms lol)
