Gas workhorse 480 not shutting down
My cart will keep idling/running when I take my foot off the gas. I have tested the micro switches, OK. Replaced the solenoid, no change. Anybody have any ideas? Rog

Re: Gas workhorse 480 not shutting down
Might not be idling/running at all just the starter turning it over. Don't know about 480s but mine
did the same thing and an adjustment on the cable at the governor on top the rearend fixed it. |

No, it's the gas motor that is running.

So far I found that if your throttle doesn't return all the way, it won't shut off.

Re: Gas workhorse 480 not shutting down
The gas pedal returns and the micro switches return to the original positions. Also even though the micro switches are operational the top one does not ever show power coming in or out of. That's the ones with the black and white wire.

Starter solenoid may be sticking (I know you swapped it out but if all else fails check it to be sure).

Yeah, I know , I know. It's just hard to convince myself that it's a new, bad solenoid. I check it. The problem did not happen overnight. It was gradual, slow to shut down. Then slower and slower till nothing.

Check to be sure the kill wire(s) are plugged up & have good connection (located on front left of engine cowl).
