Default Vanguard 31 HP

I decided to purchase a Jakes Long Travel suspension kit. Should be here by the end of next week. Still undecided about engine. It will be a vanguard 23hp or 31 HP. Do I have enough clearance for a 31 HP in a G16 with a 6 inch LT lift kit. The dimensions say that its 11 inches taller than the 23 but that because of the muffler I believe. Any thoughts?

No way at all a 11" taller motor gonna fit! No way! If it's 11" taller, zero chance of it fitting.

The OP said it might be from the muffler. I don't know, did you ever look at the two engines in person. I'd have to do that before I bought one.

I have a 23 in my cart, and there is almost 11" of clearance.

Slonomo, Are you saying that even after you install the 23HP Vanguard that you have an additional 11 inches of room left.

That is correct, it's close to 11". Different cart than yours, mine is a G1 with a G2/9 swing arm that is extended 8". I also built a custom dropped engine mount on the swing arm, it's set up different now from these pics, but similar.

31 HP has a 1 1/8 shaft.....23 HP vanguard is the biggest model with a 1 inch shaft. Going down tomorrow to pick up a 23 HP. Going to play with it until next spring and put performance parts in the case. Thanks for the pics. Rear end is starting to go back together. Long travel kit due in on Friday.
