Cheapest mod for top speed and torque
I have a 2014 Yamaha Drive G29. What’s the cheapest mod for increased top speed and torque that won’t really damage the engine. Thanks

What's more important to you? Torque or top speed? Usually when modifying, it's either one or the other.

Yeah you can't have both for cheap lol.
Acceleration can be improved by delaying the upshift of the clutches a little bit. A slightly stronger secondary clutch spring can do this. But it's marginal in improvement. Torque can be improved by using a much larger "torque" spring in the secondary clutch. This is good for pulling loads/passengers up hills etc. The downside is the top speed may suffer. Top speed can be improved by increasing the tire size. A lift kit might be necessary to do this. But a switch to 20" tires over 18" tires can yield a few mph in top speed, say 18mph to 22mph. Again, marginal. Modifying the governor can get you more rpm and mph, but it's risky with a stock engine. Bent valves can result from over rev. The only way to get both for decent money is with an engine swap. A clone engine will have roughly twice the power of a stock engine, and with a rev kit will get more rpm, which means more mph. $600 for the Plowman's Extreme kit was the best money I ever spent. I couldn't be happier with it.
