G2 no spark
I have a G2 gasYamaha with no spark. Replaced 7 pin Ignitor and still no spark. Anyone have any ideas?

Have you tested the coil? And the spark plug cap?
I'm shooting from foggy memory here, but the coil should read less than 4 ohms from one spade terminal to the other. And about 10k ohms from either spade terminal to the end of the wire (with the plug cap removed). Plug cap.should be around 5k ohms. I'm sure cgtech or someone will chime in with exact spec readings, but if it's in this ballpark the coil.should be okay Also check the triangle.shaped 3 pin connector to make.sure it is securely connected and the pins arent corroded. Did you get an aftermarket ignitor? If it was less than $300 and didnt come with a yamaha part number in a yamaha box then its aftermarket. Trust me on this, aftermarket is absolute junk. |
