Default Digital Volt Guage doesn't match pack voltage after Alltrax install

When I was using stock controller, I had my digital volt gauge wired to the key switch. It was a negligible amount different than what the true pack voltage was.....about .01 volts different.

After I installed my Alltrax DCX500 and larger solenoid, it is off by about .8 volts. I have already rewired it directly to the pack for true voltage, but I want to understand why it is off by so much. Is it due to the diode on the upgraded solenoid?

Sounds like you have a diode between your meter and the pack. Diodes drop about .7V in the forward direction.

V-A pretty much hit the nail on the head.

The DCX controller is a Plug-n-Play replacement for the DCS controller and Alltrax designed adapters so it would work with other SepEX carts. The PDS to DCX adapter adds another set of switch contacts and one of two diodes into the voltage path before it gets to the Keyswitch, so the voltage at the Keyswitch is even further away from true pack voltage than it is with a stock PDS controller.

Attach schematics show the voltage path in F and in R.

Have fun tracing out the red lines.

In F, there is a single path from the Reed switch to Pin-6

In R, it additionally splits off to Pin-4 after the F/R switch, but before the upper diode.
