Default 97 controller question

I bought a 97 ezgo fixer upper and I think I've traced its no-run problem to the controller, which is probably why I got it cheap. It has a Alltrax NPX4834EZ that has M, B+, B- lugs and 6-pin plug on it. I bought a 95-96 parts cart that has 4 lugs, M,B+,B-, and A2 on its stock controller. In BU they have a replacement controller that has the 3lug config. How would you hook that up?
Both controllers had the same solenoid, with the resistor and diode, mounted on the controller. I'm hoping I can swap the 95-96 into the 97, just not making sense about the A2

After a lot of thought, I'm wondering if I could just add a cable from A2 lug on controller to top lug on FNR switch that has a cable going to A2 motor lug. That is how the 95-96 was wired.

To change from 4 lig to 3 lug control simply bypass the control where A2 is missing. instead of a motor and F&R cable landing on control A2 splice these cables into one run from the F&R to the motor for a 3 lug application.

I must have written it confusingly. I'm wanting to put the 4 lug controller on what had been a 3 lug cart. That said, can I hook M, B-,B+, where they say and then run a cable from A-2 lug to FNR (12:00) post that goes on to A-2 on motor?
Please be patient, this stuff don't come easy for some of us.

Also, is it true you can fix or rebuild an Alltrax controller?

No repair/rebuild alltrax. If you are just looking to replace a failed controller with another that happens to have a A2 lug and dont care about plug braking, just hook it up as it was with the 3 lug controller as if the A2 werent even there.

I'm down the road on this cart but not done. I have run diagnostic sheet in the manual to the point that the cart will run in forward and reverse with a jumper from the B+ to solenoid +. I've checked the reverse circuit and location of the all the wires and they look to be in right location. Micro switches work, wired OK. Load wires appear to be right, control wires look right.
In the diagnostics, the ITS throttle seemed ok, solenoid ok, motor runs, the controller should be ok.
Any ideas?
I think I had this happen before but I can't remember the fix.
