Default Made Upgrades today, a little disappointed

First let me say, ScottyB rocks! Fast shipping, great email response and took my call today halfway through to answer a few questions.

I did hd fr contactor, 500a controller, 200/800 solenoid and new key switch.

Here is the email I just sent Scotty, thought I might get some other thoughts/opinions here...

I have a gradual hill in front of my house and even with these upgrades it still labors. Its not a huge hill, just long and steady incline.

So...my 36v pack is brand new so hasn't been through the conditioning cycle yet. Only one charge so far. Was at 38.4 when I started tonight. So full charge.

So I ak now debating going back to my battery guy and trading out for 6 - 8v and the 48v charger. I think he would do the swap.

So, would the 404 package work on 48? Would I need the different solenoid?

And is it worth the upgrade, will there be much difference?

The longer I wait the less chance I have of him making the swap, buddy or not.

Going to 48v is well worth it. You will need a 48v solenoid.

Do you have a digital volt meter? This would give you an idea with whats going on with the 'pack' when you 'do-the-hill'. This forum said a 1.5 volt drop is about 100 amps of draw. 48 v will give you more torque and speed. Scottyb, of course, is one of the exceptional experts on this forum. What motor do you have?

Not necessarily, see my email response and illustrations that came with the reversing contactor that illustrate how to do this with the 36v reversing contactor - apply the same technique to the main solenoid using 32 or 36v.
