Where to get a 250 ANN fuse?
Got a preowned DCX400 and it came sans-fuse.
Any of our sponsors offer them? |

Re: Where to get a 250 ANN fuse?
I got a fuse with mine but My guess is that the fuse isn't going to protect the controller from failure. Most carts out there do not have a fuse in the power circuit.

Re: Where to get a 250 ANN fuse?
It is unfortunate there are little to no physical electronic supplier stores anymore. Last time I went to radio shack and found anything useful was in the early 2000s.
But on topic, those big fusees on the B+ line really don't save anything...more so just fire prevention if the B+ and B- posts on the control short together internally. |

Even if there were stores they would not be carrying a 250 amp fuse of the proper type for this application. I agree that that fuse is only a fire prevention device - surely won't save any electronics.

I can't name another controller manufacture besides Alltrax that suggests a fuse is needed on the supply side. I have seen the cart burn with the fuse intact.

Re: Where to get a 250 ANN fuse?
The only real protection that fuse gives you is if something puts a dead short on the battery pack. I used it in my install and it is a convenient place to disconnect my battery leads while working on the cart. I have a current shunt as well so I put the fuse right on the current shunt.
