blue fuel line
Years ago I got some blue fuel line from a local snowmobile dealership. It worked great on the sleds (3/16) and you didnt need hose clamps (just stretch the ends with needle nose and slide on. It would retain its elasticity because I remember taking it off carbs, then it would shrink so I would have to stretch it a bit more and slide it back on.
I have recently purchased some stuff at my local rural king that looked similar, but it doesn't seem to be the same stuff. It turns real green when it has fuel in it for a period of time, and it gets stiff (i'm assuming from heat, i used it on a golf cart motor and atv motors). You pretty much have to replace it because the bends in it don't move once it gets stiff, and the ends are junk and you have to trim them and try and stretch them. The cheap stuff works ok, I don't find myself replacing a lot of fuel lines. But I would like to know if anybody has any idea what the good flexible blue fuel line is. I've tried yellow from a lawnmower store, it was too flimsy especially when hot. And I don't want to use black rubber, It just seems like it gets ate up and I also can't see if fuels moving through it. I try to run non ethanol in my small stuff, atv and carts, but not always the easiest or fastest option. just looking for some insight thanks |

Re: blue fuel line
Yeah I don't use the black stuff anymore either for the same reasons, My local ATV outlet store has been carrying the blue line for years. I just bought some more not to long ago and it's still of great quality, They have it in 3/16", 1/4", 5/16".
Last summer I was out of town and had to work on a friends 88 Marathon, Ended up getting some yellow line from Napa that seemed like the same great quality stuff....Although I haven't had to look at it since so not real sure how it's holding up by now, But I know it didn't turn green for at least the first month |
