Default Allied Lifepo 48v charger status LED remains green

But the batteries are not getting juice. I have a chat going on Allied (waiting for an agent) and a trouble shoot request submitted. The charger is about 2 years old.
Anyone seen this problem?

Is this charging the batteries through a cart or just on the floor with a stand alone charger?

Allied is telling me to disconnect the batteries (4 12v LI) and let them rest. If I can, hook them up in parallel outside the cart. None of the 4 batteries are showing any imbalance. I will give it a shot although I am not sure why this would work.

Charging them in the cart with the Lifepo charger is SOP. ABC if you will.

I began to get the charging level stopping at 66%. That decreased to 30% and now it is not passing power at all.

The "let 'em rest" process was confirmed by the Chat advisor. I will be back in a couple of days to report.

What voltage are you showing on the batteries? And what are you using to measure SOC? Hopefully not the cheesy old style allied meter that thing is garbage.

They're out of balance. Letting them "Rest" won't do a thing. You need to fully charge each battery with a 12v lithium charger. Better still, connect them all in parallel and then charge them with a 12v charger, leaving them like that for at least 4 days, with the charger still connected.

A permanent solution is an isolated 4 port 12v lithium charger such as the NOCO GENPRO 10x4. Mount it permanently and simply connect the AC when you want to charge.

Cheers
Pat.

This "let them rest" thing just doesn't make sense to me. Thanks for the tips. Each battery measures 12.98 using my Fluke 87V.

My parting question to the Allied techs was asking why "resting" would do anything and why the Status LED on the charger is showing green. Why isn't the charger passing power?
