Default 91 G8 crankcase side cover

I am trying to get the side cover off. Have moved it about half an inch, but now does not want to go either direction. I could not feel a groove on the shaft, but I am wondering if the bearing is bound up. Is there anything I needed to do other than take the cover bolts off and pull?

Yep, just pry and tap as gently as possible. You want the cam and balancer to stay in place so you can mark them for reasembly.

If you didn't clean up the crank shaft before trying to take it off, I recommend that also.

Finally got it to pop off. Looks clean on the inside. Time to order a set of rings, gaskets and valve seals. Thanks for the help.

1 valve seal ,inake side, make sure the rubber from the inside of seal is removed from the valve guide, the stick and are hard to notice,ck ur counter weight shaft holes are not worn,if so it will need to be machined and a bushing installed
