Default 04 CArryall 472 Brake Shoe Substitute?

I have a 2004 Carryall 472 (6 seater) with hydraulic actuated brakes on all four wheels. Is there a non-Club Car alternative for the p/n 1020502-01 four brake shoe set? They seem a bit pricey (range from $70-$140)! The front and rear brakes use the same brake shoes. I'm hoping that someone will know if maybe the Club Car/Carryall model design may be a derivative of a trailer brake shoe that I can get at my local auto parts store. Did some research Club Car IPL shows "BPI 4070" in the item description. I searched the net and found a company BPI (Brake Parts, Inc.). Somehow they are connected to Raybestos. Looks like BPI may be the actual manufacturer of brake parts that are for the different auto part chains' private labels.

Default Re: 04 CArryall 472 Brake Shoe Substitute?

Did you ever find another source for 472 brake shoes?

I have taken worn shoes to truck brake relining shop, where they glue new liners on shoes. I have done this for late 1940's VW Beetles. Very affordable.

The trick it to be sure the new liners are not too thick or the drum/wheel will not fit. The truck brake shoe relining shops located near me use a camber grinder to hone to correct thickness.
