Dave-

The braid is gone. I replaced with 4 gauge in the same places. Engine to frame, battery to frame and "C" to frame (all of which are clean-metal grounds). I will re-trace though and check. Thanks

Jim-

When I say disconnected I mean that it is in fact mounted but the belt is not on.

STill need to put a DVOM across A & B and see what happens

Update...

Ran power directly to F2 from the battery and a #4 ground directly from the battery to the ear of the starter. It did nothing. Being that it didn't even attempt to spin the unit has to be bad, no? Now I've yet to pull the starter and open it up, but it did pass the field coil test that the manual outlines. I removed the rubber caps and nothing smells burnt. Hell, I even took some electric motor spray and cleaned the brushes and comm pretty well. Even though it passed the field coil test there has got to be a coil that is broken. I may try and get it rebuilt.

Anything I'm missing here guys??

Did you pull the brushes out to physically inspect them?
