Is Lithium worth the price?
I have a 03 Club Car DS 48v. Its needing batteries. I plan on keeping this cart forever. Im retired but actively use cart to ride our timber land/hunting land. Im also planning on replacing front 6" lift with an Allsports or Jakes long travel front suspension.
With batteries and suspension upgrades would it be better to buy a newer cart? My cart has 6" lift, Admiral motor, 700a FSIP controller, hd FNR switch, DPI charger . Cart needs new tires, running off tire sealant now. |

Re: Is Lithium worth the price?
Depends on what you mean by "worth the price". The cost is 2-3X what you pay for good Lead/Acid batteries but they should last at least 2X as long. You save at least 250 lbs in battery weight. There is no acid to leak or water to add. You do need batteries that can handle your load requirements. If you don't want to be an engineer, you need to find a drop in system or a place that will do it for you.

Yes lithium is worth the price but u don’t have to buy a newer cart to go lithium... upgrade your current cart. Was the best mod I did to my last cart, a 2001 DS....

Yes, I think it's worth it; No need to buy a newer cart.

"worth" is relative ....I tossed around the idea for a year before pulling the trigger. It's been a year since....and I would absolutely say for me it was worth it.

My build wasn't easy (for me) but I do not regret one minute or one penny of it!

Re: Is Lithium worth the price?
Im serious considering lithium. And since I would need a new charger, thinking about 72v, which means a new controller too. I hope my batteries come back some with warmer weather and I can decide in the fall.

Why 72v? I’m new to this and soaking up info. What are the benefits of switching to 72v?
