1994 Club Car DS 36v to 48 ROYPOW Lithium Convert
Alright so I decided to upgrade my 1994 36 V resistor Club Car DS to 48v Lithium. I bought the full 500 Amp Alltrax upgrade kit and the Roy pow 48Volt Lithium Battery 105AH LiFeP04. However, which may be distributor mistake they sent no adapters, but it doesn't really seem to find a home in any of the battery area. Is this battery not meant for easy install for older DS carts? If not does anyone have experience custom fitting this puppy somewhere? I have it right now slid down the over center battery holder but looks as if two bolts will attach but it is awfully close to F/R switch. When installing the HD solenoid and SWOS do they have to face up or can i lay them flat off to the side near controller? I appreciate ya!

I did not use the mounts sent with the Roypow. I made solid bottom with wood and bolted to old battery holder trays.IMG_1579.jpg

I am about to install my personal DIY build and planning to add a solid "floor". I have some plywood already sized out but hopefully find some PVC thick enough to be solid. You could probably used some angled aluminum bolted in between the supports that are already there. I definitely wouldn't want it sitting against the FnR switch or the solenoid.

Did you have to raise the front wood, Maybe I have an older DS but when I put battery in it is resting on the two main support beams that run through middle if that makes sense

I mounted mine on the support on an angle. You could mount it so it would be just about behind the whole compartment, but you would have to remount most of the other electronics and move some cabling. Also puts it very close to the motor, which, unless it moves, or you want to install a new motor, may or may not be an issue.
Or weld a support underneath and then remove the battery support bar all together. |
