Buster45, WELCOME !
Check for output at the F/R switch in Reverse position. Physically you can look for broken cables and bad connections. You may simply have some corroded contacts since cart has sat for a long time? Undo, clean and reconnect cables on the Rev side of switch. Do you have a voltmeter to trace it out? |

Check your F/R switch contacts. Wiggle the F/R switch back and forth with the pedal down and see if you can get some kind of movement in reverse.

Re: 89 No Reverse 36 volt series
As you probably figured, I'm pretty green on electrical things. I tried moving the reverse switch back and forth, still no movement. Does the forward side on the switch go to the solenoid and reverse side back to the motor?

Re: 89 No Reverse 36 volt series
IF you have tried jiggling and slamming the switch a couple of times and checked all of the connections you can find then I would give up. Honestly, without a background in DC electrics a high voltage cart is no place to learn with out a good instructor by your side. There is enough amperage under the seat to weld with. This might be a case of better safe than sorry...
But if you want to pursue it the wiring diagrams for the cart are posted in the stickies at the beginning of this section. |

Re: 89 No Reverse 36 volt series
Thanks for all your help. I took pictures of my old battery setup prior to taking them out of the cart. Could see where everything went back except for one wire off the F/R switch. Looked at buddies cart and put it where he's is. Wrong, to neg on battery. Hooked up as diagrapm and it works, thanks a bunch. Will ask buddy at work about his reverse? tbc

Re: 89 No Reverse 36 volt series
So did you end up with the saftey version (18 volts) or the full speed version of reverse?
