2007 YDRE uneven braking
I have replaced my YDRE 2007 Transaxle with a factory new Yamaha unit. It has an internal wet brake. When braking it feels like a warped rotor or drum. It did this the very first stop and I have about one mile on it now.
My old one did the same thing before it failed with a lot of grinding noise and me pushing it home. The brake pedal is adjusted with to approximately 2 inched of free travel. I have rotated the tires and taken care to torque the rims in the correct sequence. Again this only happens when applying the brake. Is there something I missed? Is this a typical YDRE problem? A warrantee issue? |

Re: 2007 YDRE uneven braking
I replaced my transaxle because of the squawking noise when stopping. I never experienced any grinding or warped feeling while stoping. Did you fill the transaxle with Yamalube before driving it, as they are not shipped with it.

Re: 2007 YDRE uneven braking
Yes it is full of Yama lube. No grinding with the new unit, actually very quite. Just that surging uneven feeling of a warped rotor.
BTW my transaxle was shipped with the lube. I topped off the last half inch before test drive. |

Re: 2007 YDRE uneven braking
Try checking your clutches and the belt. Could it be that when you apply the brake to stop that the clutches are not downshifting smoothly.

Re: 2007 YDRE uneven braking
If it's uneven when braking there is something internally wrong. I would get it replaced if it's new.

Re: 2007 YDRE uneven braking
That's what I'm thinking after consulting with you and a local cart guy. I was hoping there was a better solution than R and R again.
Thanks Dano |

Re: 2007 YDRE uneven braking
A "Factory New" rear end should have nice smooth braking that would be trouble free for years. Sounds like you got a bad unit or someone was BSing you about it being a new factory unit.
