Help Diagnosing motor "squeak"
Hey gang, I recently installed a PQ bandit, xct 500 amp controller, solenoid, 2 gauge wires. The motor makes a squeak at low rpm only when moving forward.
I know it is not brakes, as the squeak occurs multiple times with every rotation of the tire. It is not the rear or axel as the squeak is not present with the stock motor. This is the second try at a PQ motor, the first one made the same squeak. I sent it back, Robby replaced the motor and the replacement makes the same noise. The first motor was driven 1 mile, the second has not left the garage. Before I send this one back, I wanted the see what yall think. |

Re: Help Diagnosing motor "squeak"
That definitely sounds like motor brushes. When you have a new set they are more flat and have to seat to the motor which is more tapered being round. Just drive it for a few days and it will get less and less until it is completely gone once seated. No worries. (I am surprised PQ did not tell you that...)

He didnt..... first PQ said it must have been dropped in shipping/ bad bearing. When i let him know the second motor made the same sound, he told me to send it back for a refund.
I was ready to do another motor swap. |

Re: Help Diagnosing motor "squeak"
albeit strange, still pretty sure that is your brushes so just put some mileage on it and I think you will see it quiet right down.
