Default Winter storage

I'm used to draining the fuel out of my gas tools and vehicles after the season and then running the remaining fuel out of the carburetor. I'm not sure how to safely do this when the cart is always in gear. How can I run the engine in "neutral" to run out the gas for winter storage?

Also I want to put the cart in my garage until Spring but have a low overhead door that it won't clear. Does anyone see a problem with removing the top from the cart?

The float bowl has a drain screw, open the screw slightly and let the gas flow out of the bowl.

When I lived up north before storing my bikes for the winter Id put in fresh fuel and half bottle of seafoam. Never had any issues.

We store with a double dose of marine stabol mixed in gas and run until we are sure thats in the carbs, pull the spark plug and fog the cylinder and turn over to coat the cylinder, new plug in and a tender on battery. This works well for us, i do change or clean air filter and inspect for signs of any pest nestings in the spring.

Can you get ethanol free gas where you live? I believe in it especially if it is going to sit a while.

I use it to drive on the beach in summer. No use for it in the winter. Too cold here in the mid Atlantic.

In all of my small engines and motorcycles I have used both StarTron and/or StaBil with excellent results. Whichever route you decide to go, be sure to run the engine for at least 5 minutes to insure the treated fuel gets into the carb and throughout the fuel (efi) system.
