1995 EZGO Medalist Motor
Hi Everyone
I have a 1995 EZGO Medalist that I need to replace a main cable stud on the motor. It is the A1 terminal on the motor. Can this be done or is the motor toast. |

I've never looked for one, but they may be called "alternator" shop, if you can't find "motor".

The A1 motor post is an easy job. Just get new brushes and the armature studs are includes.

Re: 1995 EZGO Medalist Motor
Yeah, probably cheaper, and given that they're coming up on 24 years old...
It'll give you a chance to change the bearing and clean up the commutator as well. I tore my 1998 series motor apart and replaced the bearing. Brushes were fine on mine. Be sure and use two wrenches when loosening and tightening the cables to the studs. Good info in the service manual for tearing apart and putting back together a series motor. No shop press is required. |

Re: 1995 EZGO Medalist Motor
A buddy took his motor to an automotive alternator/starter rebuild shop. The redid the two twisted studs on his motor for $100. Works great now.

Re: 1995 EZGO Medalist Motor
look for an Armature shop - I just had the same thing done
You can also tap it and reinsert a bolt to new taps as a band aid fix - did that as well |

Re: 1995 EZGO Medalist Motor
Got them changed. It's a shame because the old brushes were in really good shape. But I have new ones now. Also changed the bearing while I was in there. Thanks for all the help.
