Which cart to buy? Club Car vs Yamaha
I have another scenario. Still shopping for a cart. What do you guys think about these options:
1. 2005 Club Car (probably precedent model) no batteries for $300-400 (supposedly everything works though) from local golf course. 2. 2005 Club Car (probably precedent model) with batteries (used at least a couple years old) everything works from local golf course $900 3. 2001 Yamaha G19E with 3 month old Trojan T-875 batteries. Black seat cover but otherwise stock. $1050 from an individual. He will deliver (saves me renting a trailer) Thoughts? Price is huge factor for me, no plans to upgrade and will probably sell the cart in about a year. |

2. It sounds like an IQ precedent. If batteries have 2-3 years then you can look at other jobs. Body comes off easy so you can get down to work. Clean up. Recover seats. Put on a dashboard. Install a 48 to 12 converter. Put in a speed magnet. For less than$1000 you will have a good looking cart ready for accessories, and runs at 19mph on the flat. That's if they are honest.

Haha well once I purchase a cart I’ll reveal those details. I’m not in Florida though. I’m leaning hard towards the Yamaha. It also has a new black top. It’s obviously a previous golf course cart but I’m liking the new batteries and it should be a lot less hassle than the others. Get it home and use it.

Not sure about Yamaha... but a huge selling point on the Club Cars is the aluminum frame.

You're right that the Yamaha is the surest bet, if you're OK with spending the little extra money. #2 you could save some money on the purchase & "hope" the batteries make it through your year or so you intend to own it. Generally the Precedent would have better resale value at the end of your year, but the age of the batteries could change that.

Re: Which cart to buy? Club Car bs Yamaha
Thanks for the advice guys. I know this is a club car section so I’d expect some leaning that way. I don’t mind spending the extra $150 for the Yamaha if it lasts the year. I just want a cart that goes, stops and turns. Haha. Something I can get my daughter out on driving before I get her a real car. Pretty sure I’ll be able to sell it for what I paid in a year.
