Default 2000 ezgo type

I just picked up a 2000 ezgo 26v want to get some more torque and speed out of it but I need to know what I am working with first. How do I tell what control system it is. I can't find a tow switch anywhere on it, I have a shift selector on the front of the seat that has a rod that runs to the controller. It has bigger tires and a small lift on it. Just would like to get the most out of 36v as I can unless it is relative to jump to 48v as I think I may need battery's in short time.

Mouse, as RIB mentioned, by your description, you have a SERIES DRIVE System....and you are wanting more torque and speed....only one way.....make the jump to 48v.

Thanks for the info, so next question where is the one stop shopping to make 48v happen. I can do all the work just need the goodies. Is there anything that can be done with the 36v that it is now to just get by with for a while?
