Exclamation yamaha g1 break in and oil type

i just put a new cylinder head and piston/ring kit in my g1 and wondering what the proper basic break in is. also is there any decent 2 stroke oils that are available everywhere and not just yamalube ? Ive heard marine outboard 2 stroke is no good for these engines, is that true ? thanks

Link to a good article on 2-stroke oil selection:

http://www.ultralighthomepage.com/OIL/oil.html

The article is biased towards Pennzoil, which is a good oil, but basically any AIR-COOLED 2-stroke engine oil is suitable. I like Castrol myself, but that's just me. Chainsaw/weedwhacker oil is good, but usually sold in tiny bottles for easy premixing. This can get expensive when you try to fill your autolube tank. Snowmobile oil is what you are looking for, not outboard motor oil. If you live in a northern area, check your local snowmobile dealers. Auto parts stores like NAPA often carry suitable oil. Premix a small amount of oil ( say 100:1 or so) with your first couple of gallons of gas to supplement your injection oil to help your new engine break in properly.
