Re: Club Car/Kubota build
Great Build! I have a couple of questions. What did you use for the fuel pump and How hard was it to wire up to crank it with the glow plugs and starter?

Re: Club Car/Kubota build
When the guy I did the install for brought me the engine it had an Electric fuel pump with it. As far as starting it, I just hooked the starter to the battery and crossed out the solonoid, the owner finished the wiring. The Glow plugs didn't have any wire attached to them, I guess they are not needed here in Florida.

Re: Club Car/Kubota build
The clutch adaptor- I cut a circle from a piece of 3/8 plate larger in diameter than the flywheel clutch bolt holes, put it on the lathe and made it a perfect circle, then chucked it in the lathe on the outside of the plate and center bored a 1-1/4 inch hole. Then I pressed in a 1 1/4 X 4 inch long piece of cold rolled hardened round stock and welded the back side and the front side of the plate. Then I chucked the plate back in the lathe and turned the round stock down to 1 inch this way it will be true centered, I left a 1/2 inch shoulder next to the plate, while in the lathe I drilled and tapped the end of the shaft for the Drive clutch bolt. Then I drilled holes in the plate to the exact hole in the flywheel clutch mounts and bolted it to the flywheel with grade 8 bolts. Sorry I didn't take any pictures of it.

This is my dream build!! Everything I own is a diesel with the exception of my carts. This will be my next project if somebody will donate a motor.

Don't mean to high/jack but this sounds close to what I was thinking of doing for a crank pulley for my alternator at least similar. |
