Default tempo fuel gauge on g14

On this snowy day I decided to post my trials on putting a tempo marine fuel gauge on my g14.I see the yamaha drive now includes one.I bought the tempo kit on Ebay . Installed gauge and wiring as per instructions..I cut the proper sized hole into my gas tank and used the provided gasket.I secured the sender with some #10 self tapping screws.I then did a test ride and found this set up leaked badly around the sender.Permatex #2 on the gasket same result.Silicone sealer same result.Last hope JB weld and as many 1/4 inch self tapers as would fit on the sender plate.TADA sucess it DID not leak. This is a much needed and useful addition if you go any distance from home.

My fuel elbow also cracked. My neighbor Mr Chevy put a 90 degree bend in some copper tubing that we sealed in the original base. A much more durable part for very little cost or labor. You can see it sorta in earlier pics.

Looks like you need some gas before you go too far

Great info though, when I finish my dash, I would like to include gauges such as a speedo, tach and fuel gauge would be nice without lifting the fuel door and cleaning the dirt off of the factory gauge to see it!

It is wired to the ignition switch on both carts. You can see the tach was reading zero when the pic was taken. But it is really nice to know how much gas is in the cart before you set off on whatever journey. I usually don't let either cart get below 1/4 of a tank so the engines are never fuel starved in hard cornering.
