Default Spark Plug Issues????

2002 TXT, New factory carb, valves properly adjusted, new air cleaner,always run fresh fuel with stabilizer, NGK BPR4ES plugs properly gapped
Plugs are black and sooty, what would cause this??

A 2002 could have a bunch of hours on it. If that motor has 1000 or more hours on it, cylinder head issues could be the problem. Could be using a slight amount of oil that is causing your issue. You put a new factory carb on it, so I would rule that as being an issue. Carb adjustments are minimal at best. Unless the carb was jetted for higher altitude I don't see that being your issue.
