Default Is 94 gas ezgo drive clutch rebuildable?

I just bought 94 gas marathon. Clutch does not engage right away like my Yamaha g2 does. Rpms have to come up before it engages. It does eventually engage but it takes a moment to slide forward on shaft. Also unless you keep pressure on gas pedal it kinda gives that off and on acceleration feeling. Is this normal for this cart. I was able to rebuild my yamaha clutch on the engine without pulling it. Can i access the inside of clutch and are there rebuild parts available? Have not seen any online yet? Btw I want to lift cart and add larger tires and dont think it will have the power to take off. Thanks for any help.

Check your belt first, it's VERY common for people to assume the late 4-stroke Marathons use a Medalist/TXT belt and replace theirs with the wrong one, that delays clutch engagement and robs power like CRAZY because the TXT belt is almost an inch too long for the Marathon.

The belt You need is 27077-G02, it's 1 3/16" X 40.25" ... If Your belt says 72054-G01 then You have the incorrect belt, replace it with the correct one (or better yet a Yamaha G14 belt) and that should solve your problems.

Sorry forgot to mention it is a 2-stroke engine. I also have watched the delay in the sheave moving so its not the belt.
