2002 G16A idles when key is on.
I have a 2002 Yamaha G16A. It recently just starting idling by itself when i turn the key on. It won't stop idling unless you I turn the key off. I did notice the 10amp fuse is blown. Wasn't sure if that had anything to do with it? Thanks for any help.

Is it idling (motor started) or just running the starter?

Not really sure. It sounds to me that the motor is started but the cart don’t move even when in gear. So it may just be the starter. I forgot to mention I just installed a new starter/generator. But it was about 2 weeks when I installed that. It just started this yesterday.

It actually stopped idling for a lil bit today. Then I moved it out the garage and it started again.

I would not suggest allowing the starter/generator to run with no load on it, most typical series motors given full power and zero load can over-rev and be destroyed.

I will remove the plug cap tonight and see what’s going on. Do you happen to know what the 10 amp fuse is for that is blown?
