Oil Warning Light Yamy G22
For some reason, the low oil light on my 2003 Yamaha G22 goes on (oil level is correct) and doesn't turn off when the engine is off. The engine doesn't shut off when stopped and doesn't go off with the key is off. Last two issue to resolve on the rebuild. Help appreciated.

Re: Oil Warning Light Yamy G22
Oil light is operated by a float switch in the engine. It would normally operate any time the oil is low, regardless of if engine is running or not, key on or off. The blue wire on the back of the engine (between the front and rear clutch) is the oil sensor wire. Unplug it, if the light goes off, sensor has failed, if it stays on, you have a wiring fault. If the sensor needs changed, it requires engine removal, clutch removal, and crankcase side cover removal.

I was afraid of that. Just had it apart and didn't change the oil switch. Unplugging the bulb now...
