Default G8 axle issue

Well i pulled a trans axle out of a g8 for rebuild. I diasasembled the entire axle replaced every bearing and cleaned it out. Last but not least the outer axle bearings were shot. I tried pressing off would not come off i had to cut each one and chisiel with a hammer to split them. Suprise they fit on the hub side and the factory welds the hubs on know woder would not press off. Any input would be great looking at chucking it up in the lathe cutting weld then pressing new bearing on and run an indacator on it while i weld it back on.

Thanks small block! Lilttle concerned customer has 18hp vanny in the cart. After i have ot welded again concerned with the temper of axle being removed? I know they did it omce with no issues but now its being heated twice. Might not give him an opt. Other than purchasing new axles. Hate to do all this work and find out he twisted a hub off. 26 mud tires lol. I imagime thats why the bearings met there demise.
